When it all began
Rumors and first details
At May 2, 2007 message boards around the world were discussing The Last Remnant for the first time - It was the date Square Enix has filed a trademark request for The Last Remnant. Only five days later the well known English magazine Game Informer has released the first batch of scans and information.
Three days later, at May 10, Square Enix held their pre-Square Enix Party 2007 conference. It that conference The Last Remnant was officially announced. That conference also gave us the first official screenshots and artwork.
Prologue
TLR's prologue
One thousand years ago humanity came into contact with Remnants. These magical fragments of a bygone era were once used to promote peace across the world. Soon, as the rift grew between those who ruled and those who obeyed, the remnants ceased being instruments of balance, and instead became paths to immeasurable power. Where once there had been peace, only bloodshed remained.

TLR going multiplatform
Square Enix has confirmed that The Last Remnant will be released simultaneously in North America and Japan for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Non-linear gameplay
The game will let you choose which character you would like to play with: Rush Sykes, an energetic and idealistic 18 year old swordsman or an other, currently unknown character.
Technical details
From UE3 to Takai
The game will use Square Enix's recently purchased Unreal Engine 3 and TreeSpeed. The director of the game is Hiroshi Takai.
Plot details
The first details
The adventure begins on an isolated island called Eulam where Rush and his sister Irina lead carefree lives. That all changes early on when Irina is kidnapped by a mysterious organization and Rush finds himself in the middle of a world spanning conflict somehow tied to ancient and powerful relics called remnants.
